week one: finding my new york feet (round two)...

And 'the dream' begins: to be studying fashion and to be living in New York City, an insanely popular travel destination worldwide. Now, New York as my home, feels surreal.  However, I have always felt at 'home' here. I can confidently say I have been in delayed shock since being accepted into Parsons New School of Design in March, the day after my 22nd birthday.

Boring things like picking up my student card, opening a U.S. bank account and buying a proper phone plan have taken up my time so far, but have managed not to seem so boring as they reinforce the fact that I am staying. Not jetting off to some other city like you would normally be when visiting this city. I'm putting down roots...

In one sense I feel like I was just here yesterday (even though I left here 9 months ago from my last visit), and in another I am aware that I feel slightly ungrounded...being semi-homeless tends to breed unease! I am hoping to find my 'New York feet' again (as one friend described as 'wearing heels') quickly...

FYI: I am doing a Masters of Fashion Studies, NOT Fashion Design.
