New York...finally. Having made it here with an embarrassing amount of luggage (I realise two full suitcases is excessive...but it is NEW YORK...I need options), I am now at the point of trying to recover from the jet lag as fast as possible so my exploration of the city can properly begin.
Yesterday was my first day here, and it involved the un-glamorous tasks of buying a cheap US mobile and stocking my kitchen from groceries from all around Chelsea...including various supermarkets and the amazing Trader Joes. This store is meant to sell some of the best/cheapest groceries in the city...which can sometimes mean lining up to ENTER the store. Insane.
I know people say that living in New York will ‘toughen you up’, and I am seriously hoping that this will not only apply to my state of mind…but to my feet. I have never had so many blisters/cuts in my life, and I have worn some painful shoes. It has brought an embarrassing amount of light to the lack of walking around Sydney I actually do…
Now with my wardrobe full (thanks to cheap extra hangers at home depot), fresh flowers (courtesy of J) and about 3 different boxes of extra strong Band-Aids, I am feeling a little more settled in my new home.
